Ann Carrington

I am thrilled to be commissioning a piece by the UK artist Ann Carrington. Ann tackles her images in such a creative way, using mixed media that she deems appropriate to the subject matter. She is famous for her "Pearly Queens", which I imagine have garnered renewed vigour in this year of all things royal:

Her most recent commission is for the lobby of a W Hotel in New Jersey - it's a giant magnet (8m x 5m) holding together tens of thousands of metallic objects relevant to New York, including subway tokens and US coins. I can't wait to visit it...

We are building a Hamptons style house, reminiscent of the years we spent in that part of the world. I am very excited to see how she will interpret a map of the Hamptons! Have a look at her amazing website www.anncarrington.co.uk. Ann is really one of the most incredible artists working today in my opinion.
